Softball Recap: Windham Comes Up Short

If Windham was feeling good fresh off their 21-4 takedown of New London on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Whippets came up short against the Putnam Clippers on Thursday, falling 15-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Clippers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-7 back in April.

Windham has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Putnam, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-7.

Windham has already played their next game (against Tourtellotte Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Putnam, they will venture away from home to square off against New London at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Whalers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.1 runs per game on average), something the Clippers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
