After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woodridge, Ravenna was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Bedford Bearcats. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Ravens as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jeriah Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Ravenna got a massive performance out of Connor Welling, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Welling has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Godley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Ravenna's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Bedford, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ravenna will challenge McKinley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bedford, they will head out to take on Maple Heights at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
