Softball Recap: Delcastle Technical Gets the Win

While Delcastle Technical's win against First State Military Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Bulldogs on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Jillian Duhamell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six stolen bases and three runs. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karli Collin, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Delcastle Technical's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for First State Military Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delcastle Technical will venture away from home to face off against Wilmington Charter at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for First State Military Academy, they will head out to take on Odyssey Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
