Softball Recap: Salesian College Preparatory Finds Playoff Glory Versus Ukiah

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Salesian College Preparatory walked away with it. They came out on top against the Ukiah Wildcats by a score of 13-8 on Tuesday.

DeAmor Coleman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gloria Alcaire, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Matea Gaddies, who went 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Salesian College Preparatory's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Ukiah, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10-1 record this season.

Salesian College Preparatory is taking a road trip to square off against San Rafael at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Ukiah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
