Coahulla Creek hadn't done well against Northwest Whitfield recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Colts skirted past the Bruins 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted since October 8, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Coahulla Creek got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 18-25, 15-13.

Alyce Norton paced Coahulla Creek's offense, picking up nine kills. Norton got some help from Maddy Hambright and her 12 assists. Norton also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Natalie Snow, racking up three apiece.

The win got Coahulla Creek back to even at 1-1. As for Northwest Whitfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Coahulla Creek will head out on the road to face off against Calhoun at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwest Whitfield, they will square off against Sonoraville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
