Basketball Recap: Ruben De Los Santos' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Red Lion Christian over Heritage Christian Academy

If Red Lion Christian was riding high fresh off their 77-57 takedown of Blue Mountain Christian last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Lion Christian Swordsmen fell to the Heritage Christian Academy Patriots 35-30. The loss continues a trend for the Swordsmen in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost seven in a row.

Several Swordsmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ruben De Los Santos, who posted seven points and five steals. De Los Santos is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed five or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Luke Schock, who scored seven points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Red Lion Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Red Lion Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Heritage Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Red Lion Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-22 victory against Twin Valley Bible Academy on the 7th. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-44 win against Carlisle Christian Academy on the 7th.
