Basketball Game Preview: Crowder Demons vs. Kiowa Cowboys

The Crowder Demons will venture away from home to face off against the Kiowa Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Crowder comes in on 13 and Kiowa on three.

Last Friday, Crowder got the win against Pittsburg by a conclusive 44-19. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kiowa). They breezed by Tupelo to the tune of 79-23 on Friday. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Tigers are ranked 422nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kiowa pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points over those games. As for Crowder, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1.

Crowder didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Kiowa when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 64-58 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crowder since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
