Preview: Del Sol Dragons vs. Canyon Springs Pioneers
The Del Sol Dragons's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Canyon Springs Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. Del Sol will be strutting in after a victory while Canyon Springs will be coming in after a loss.
Del Sol can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They breezed by Sandy Valley on the road to the tune of 67-17. That 50 points margin sets a new team best for Del Sol this season.
Del Sol found their leader in underclassman Raina Cobbin, who scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that Cobbin scored 15 or more points. Morgan White was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Canyon Springs was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-44 to Durango.
Del Sol's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27 points. As for Canyon Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Del Sol was dealt a bruising 73-41 defeat at the hands of Canyon Springs in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Del Sol avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
