Baseball Recap: Scarborough Picks Up 24th Consecutive Victory

Scarborough put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Deering Rams. Considering the Red Storm have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cam Dean looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Finn Coburn was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Noone, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

Scarborough always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deering only posted an OBP of .222.

Scarborough pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Deering, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Scarborough will take on rival Thornton Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Storm 0.7, the Trojans 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Deering is set to challenge their familiar foe Massabesic at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
