Softball Recap: Orange Beach Picks Up 14th Consecutive Win

Orange Beach waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They put the hurt on the Cuba City Cubans with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Makos, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Orange Beach got a great performance from MK McMullan as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts McMullan has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Katie King, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Hodo, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Orange Beach hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in eight consecutive games.

Orange Beach's victory bumped their record up to 14-1.

Coming up, Orange Beach will be playing at home against Jasper at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cuba City, they will host Fennimore at 5:00 p.m. on April 3.
