Softball Recap: Jacobs Comes Up Short

Jacobs was the 12-2 winner over Glenbrook North when they last played one another back in April of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Eagles wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Jianna Tanada was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery St Leger, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Jacobs' loss dropped their record down to 17-17. As for Glenbrook North, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.

Jacobs will square off against Sycamore at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Golden Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Glenbrook North, they will challenge Schaumburg at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saxons have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
