Baseball Recap: Celebration Storm vs. Shipley

Suggested Video

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grayslake Central, Celebration was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against Shipley by a score of 11-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Storm considering their one-run performance the game before.

Jesus Cabarcas tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on David Sevilla, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Celebration's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Keiner Quintero, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
