Soccer Game Preview: Evergreen vs. D'Evelyn

The Evergreen Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the D'Evelyn Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evergreen is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Evergreen is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Golden, who was ranked 25th at the time (Evergreen was ranked 18th). The Cougars put the hurt on the Demons with a sharp 6-3 victory on Tuesday. Considering Evergreen have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Golden from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Cameron Wedding led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, D'Evelyn was forced to settle for a draw. They and Green Mountain finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Monday.

Evergreen's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five games. With that draw, D'Evelyn's record moves to 3-5-1.

Evergreen skirted past D'Evelyn 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
