Volleyball Recap: Centennial Starts Season with Win Against Verrado

Centennial had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Verrado Vipers. That's more bragging rights for the Coyotes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Centennial was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 19-25, 25-12, 25-23.

Kate Federico was nothing short of spectacular: she had 25 digs and four aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more digs the last three times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Verrado lost, don't look at Elleanna 'Ellie' Bejarano. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs and three assists.

Centennial has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Desert Mountain on the 3rd. As for Verrado, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Chaparral on the 2nd.
