Softball Recap: Assumption Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Assumption nor Daviess County made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Rockets fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 4-3. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Assumption saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tia Ice, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Assumption's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Daviess County, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Assumption and Daviess County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Rockets (ranked sixth) will meet Central Hardin (ranked 51st) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Daviess County will take on Christian County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (5 vs. 67).
