Baseball Recap: Tooele Takes a Loss

Tooele saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell just short of the Kanab Cowboys by a score of 2-1. The game marked the Buffaloes' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Carson Freeman spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Tooele and nudges their season record down to 1-5. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Kanab, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Tooele and Kanab will both be playing Crimson Cliffs the next time they take the field. Tooele will head out to face Crimson Cliffs at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Kanab will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
