Baseball Game Preview: Rocklin Thunder vs. Davis Sr. Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Rocklin will face off against Davis Sr.. The Thunder will head out on the road to face off against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rocklin 2.5, Davis Sr. 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Rocklin fell victim to Davis Sr. and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 2-0. That makes it the first time this season the Thunder have let down their home crowd.

For Davis Sr.'s part, not much got past Cade Castles, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Rocklin off the board. Castles has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eli Burnham was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Davis Sr. has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Rocklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-5.
