Basketball Recap: Severance Victorious

After losing to Greeley Central the last time they met, Severance decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Severance Silver Knights walked away with a 58-50 victory over the Greeley Central Wildcats on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Greeley Central lost, don't look at Madison Sepeda. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 20 on her way to 23 points and three steals. The game was Sepeda's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayra Flores, who posted ten points.

Severance's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Greeley Central, they moved to 8-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Severance is taking a road trip to face off against Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Severance is facing Mountain View at the right time seeing as Mountain View is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Greeley Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-43 loss against Longmont on the 25th.
