Softball Recap: Eminence Eels vs. Bethesda Christian Patriots

Eminence came into this matchup off a tough 12-run defeat last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Bethesda Christian Patriots by a score of 4-2 on Monday. Sophia Saucerman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Saucerman wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Khloee Kirk, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
