Basketball Recap: Hampden Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Hampden won the last time they faced Brewer and things went their way on Friday too. The Hampden Broncos came out on top against the Brewer Witches by a score of 59-52.

Brewer lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ollie Higgins, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Higgins has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Fullerton, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points and five boards.

Hampden has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Brewer, they moved to 13-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Hampden and Brewer should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings. Hampden will square off against Bangor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 74 places (26 vs. 100). Meanwhile, Brewer (ranked 17th) will meet Nokomis (ranked 90th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
