Softball Recap: North Medford's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

North Medford managed to slip by Sheldon the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Black Tornado came up short against the Irish on Saturday, falling 11-4. The Black Tornado's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

North Medford's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for Sheldon, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Medford will venture away from home to take on South Eugene at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Axe have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.4 runs per game on average), something the Black Tornado will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sheldon, they will head out on the road to challenge Roseburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Irish's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
