Basketball Recap: Seymour Gets the Win

Seymour hadn't done well against Jeffersonville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Seymour Owls sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-54 victory over the Jeffersonville Red Devils. For the Owls, this counts as revenge for the 54-48 win the Red Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Seymour is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Jeffersonville, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seymour will take on Franklin Community at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seymour is facing Franklin Community at the right time seeing as Franklin Community is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Jeffersonville, they will challenge Evansville North at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
