Basketball Recap: Richmond Red Devils vs. Anderson Indians
The Richmond Red Devils lost against the Anderson Indians back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Richmond took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. Richmond has struggled against the Indians recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Richmond lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cedric Horton. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Braiden Hogg, who scored 11 points.
Damien King continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Anderson, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. King is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last 13 games he's played. Javon Warfield was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Richmond's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-2. As for Anderson, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Richmond will take on the Wildkats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Kokomo's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Anderson, they will head out on the road to take on the Giants at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Marion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Indians are ranked 30th).
