Softball Recap: Shadow Mountain Matadors vs. Thunderbird Titans
If Shadow Mountain was feeling good fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Moon Valley on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Matadors came up short against the Thunderbird Titans on Monday, falling 14-2. The Matadors were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the six contests prior), but the Titans' pitcher proved too tough.
Ava Maroulis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Shadow Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Thunderbird, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-10.
Looking ahead, Thunderbird will head out on the road to challenge Agua Fria at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Shadow Mountain will be paying especially close attention to Thunderbird's game: after Thunderbird faces off against Agua Fria, they'll take on Shadow Mountain again at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
