Soccer Recap: South Umpqua Comes Up Short

South Umpqua lost against St. Mary back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lancers came up short against the Crusaders, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, South Umpqua can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 155th, while St. Mary's are ranked 41st).

South Umpqua's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for St. Mary's, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

South Umpqua wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, an 8-0 loss against Marshfield on the 6th. As for St. Mary's, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 defeat against Oregon Episcopal on the 4th.
