Volleyball Recap: Rock Hill Takes a Loss

Rock Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Gallia Academy Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-13, 25-5.

Journee Meddings paced Rock Hill's offense, picking up three kills. Meddings got some help from Lexi Mullens and her four assists.

Gallia Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chloe Bennett led the charge by getting 18 digs and five aces. Bennett has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 20 times she's played.

Rock Hill's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Gallia Academy, they pushed their record up to 22-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Rock Hill and Wheelersburg will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gallia Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
