Baseball Game Preview: Momence Momence Athletics vs. Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers

The Momence Momence Athletics will head out on the road to challenge the Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Momence came up short against Grant Park and fell 7-4.

Momence saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Ford, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Sam Fitzgerald also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Serena hit Gardner-South Wilmington with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers fell 5-0 to the Huskers. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Huskers: they've now lost three in a row.

Gardner-South Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Momence, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Momence couldn't quite get it done against Gardner-South Wilmington when the teams last played last Tuesday as they fell 10-5. Can the Momence Athletics avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
