Basketball Game Preview: Theodore Bobcats vs. Daphne Trojans

The Theodore Bobcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Daphne Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Theodore took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 59-52 victory over Davidson. The win was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Daphne had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Toros out 60-58. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Toros are ranked 221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Daphne has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Theodore, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Theodore came out on top in a nail-biter against Daphne in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 58-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Theodore since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
