Basketball Recap: Westlake Thunder vs. Lone Peak Knights
Westlake hadn't done well against Lone Peak recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Westlake Thunder snuck past the Lone Peak Knights with a 45-39 win. Winning may never get old, but the Thunder sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Westlake's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Thompson, who went 6-for-11 en route to 13 points and five boards. Keira Hester also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Despite the loss, Lone Peak still got an impressive performance from Kennedy Woolston, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Woolston is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tatiana Harness, who had ten points.
