Baseball Recap: Winslow Bulldogs vs. Alchesay Falcons

Winslow had lost 18 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-21 to make it 19. They lost 12-4 to the Alchesay Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Aiden Martinez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs.

As for Alchesay, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-13. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Alchesay's side, Brayden Edwards tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Edwards has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Japeth Henry and Chez Massey did most of the damage at the plate: Henry went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Massey went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Henry a new career-high. Nikil Anderson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

While Winslow had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
