If Ascend Leadership Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Clover Garden School, they should've done a better job of containing Gracie Vincent. The Grizzlies narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Aviators 23-20 thanks in part to Vincent, who posted four points and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played.

The win made it two in a row for Clover Garden School and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 36 points in those games. As for Ascend Leadership Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Clover Garden School will head out to take on Southern Wake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so the Grizzlies' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Ascend Leadership Academy, they will be home for the holidays to greet Riverside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
