Softball Recap: North Myrtle Beach Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for North Myrtle Beach's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakeview Bulldogs on Monday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Chiefs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Nealy Lockner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, North Myrtle Beach saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sierra Bendik, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

North Myrtle Beach's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Lakeview, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

North Myrtle Beach didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-4 defeat against Canfield on the 22nd. As for Lakeview, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-5 victory against Lewisville on the 21st.
