Volleyball Recap: Naperville Central Comes Up Short

Naperville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Fremd Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redhawks of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Naperville Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-23.

Naperville Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Fremd, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season.

Naperville Central has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Reavis on the 3rd. As for Fremd, they will face off against Barrington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Fillies/Broncos have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
