Basketball Recap: North Iredell Takes a Loss

North Iredell lost against East Lincoln back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The North Iredell Raiders fell 62-51 to the East Lincoln Mustangs.

East Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taniyah Thomas, who went 9-for-15 en route to 26 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 24 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Emma Montanari, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 20 points along with eight boards and three steals.

North Iredell's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for East Lincoln, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Iredell will venture away from home to challenge West Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Iredell is facing West Iredell at the right time seeing as West Iredell is stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for East Lincoln, they are taking a road trip to take on North Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Lincoln will roll in looking for their 22nd straight victory, something East Lincoln surely won't give up without a fight.
