Basketball Game Preview: Baker County Wildcats vs. Temple Christian Academy

Two dominant forwards in Jamarion Goodman and Daiyon Williams are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Baker County Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against Temple Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, Baker County didn't have too much trouble with Stanton as they won 65-50. The Wildcats pushed the score to 54-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Blue Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Baker County can attribute much of their success to Jackson Carver, who went 7 of 9 en route to 17 points, and Will Johnson, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Goodman, who posted five points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Temple Christian Academy made easy work of Covenant School of Jacksonville on Thursday and carried off a 63-41 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Temple Christian Academy.

Baker County's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Temple Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Baker County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Temple Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 65-61 victory. Will Baker County repeat their success, or does Temple Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
