Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Moanalua Menehune

Roosevelt and Moanalua are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Roosevelt Rough Riders will venture away from home to square off against the Moanalua Menehune at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Wednesday, Roosevelt took a blow against Kahuku, falling 67-25.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moanalua). They blew past Kaimuki, posting a 70-15 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Menehune as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Roosevelt's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4. As for Moanalua, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7.

Roosevelt lost to Moanalua on the road by a decisive 42-24 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Roosevelt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
