Preview: Narbonne vs. San Pedro

The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Narbonne takes on San Pedro in the first playoff game of the year. Narbonne has been tearing up the end zone with big points in its last six contests.

The MaxPreps state rankings suggested a blowout in Narbonne's previous game, and that is exactly what happened. It crushed Gardena two weeks ago, winning 76 - 0. Senior Jalen Chatman deserves a lot of the credit as he threw for 165 yards and three touchdowns. Chatman should be a familiar name as he has been a major contributor for Narbonne in the past six games. Senior Jermar Jefferson was in the mix too, providing Narbonne with two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, San Pedro has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling five) after its most recent game. It put the hurt on George Washington Prep two weeks ago with a conclusive 35 - 0 victory. San Pedro brought some defensive heat, getting to the quarterback for seven sacks.

Their wins bumped Narbonne to 7-3 and San Pedro to 5-5. Both Narbonne and San Pedro are bound to feel confident after their prior matchups, but one team's ego will take a hit. We'll find out which one when the teams meet up this week.
