Softball Recap: Rowlett Comes Up Short

Rowlett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 17-7 to the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates.

Julissa Casta?eda was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Jordynn Williams was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Rowlett now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Lubbock-Cooper, their record is now 9-4.

Looking ahead, Rowlett will square off against Plano East at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Plano East will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Rowlett surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lubbock-Cooper, they will face off against Rockwall-Heath at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lubbock-Cooper is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
