Preview: D'Evelyn Jaguars vs. Green Mountain Rams
The D'Evelyn Jaguars will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Green Mountain Rams at 7:00 p.m. D'Evelyn will be looking to keep their 23-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
D'Evelyn can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 72-46 margin over Bear Creek. Given D'Evelyn's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Bear Creek is ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
D'Evelyn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Marvel, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Marvel is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Macy Scheer, who scored 22 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Green Mountain beat Standley Lake 44-38 on Monday.
D'Evelyn's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Green Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.
D'Evelyn didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Green Mountain in their previous matchup on Friday, but they still walked away with a 42-37 win. Does D'Evelyn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Green Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
