Softball Recap: Miami Springs Has No Trouble Against Miami Country Day

After low-scoring totals in their previous seven matchup, Miami Springs brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Everything went their way against the Miami Country Day Spartans on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-1 win. The Golden Hawks not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27, 2024 (when they won 19-1).

Brianna Snyder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one double.

In other batting news, Amanda Torres was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Khrystine Gil was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Miami Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .793. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive games.

Miami Springs' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12. As for Miami Country Day, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-6.

As of now, neither Miami Springs nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
