Softball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Saguaro's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Saguaro unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 16-10 to the ALA - Queen Creek Patriots. The Sabercats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Sophia Chiouinard was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lainey Paul, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and five RBI.

Saguaro's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for ALA - Queen Creek, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saguaro will take on ALA - Gilbert North at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for ALA - Queen Creek, they will face off against Bradshaw Mountain at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
