Basketball Recap: Milford Christian Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Granite Baptist Academy came into Saturday's match looking for another win against Milford Christian, but Bethany Mateo wouldn't allow it. The Milford Christian Conquerors snuck past the Granite Baptist Academy Guardians with a 33-29 victory on Saturday which was due in part to Mateo, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Aliene Hobbs, who posted a point in addition to ten boards and four steals. She is becoming a predictor of Milford Christian's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 3-1 (and 2-4 when she doesn't).

Milford Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Granite Baptist Academy now has a losing record of 4-5.

As of now, neither Milford Christian nor Granite Baptist Academy have any future games scheduled.
