Baseball Game Preview: Littlestown Thunderbolts vs. Berks Catholic Saints

The Littlestown Thunderbolts are taking a road trip to challenge the Berks Catholic Saints at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Littlestown's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Berks Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Thursday, Littlestown came up short against West York Area and fell 6-1. The Thunderbolts haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Littlestown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Dillon, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Logan Hoover also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, it's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Berks Catholic can now relate to. They lost 11-1 to the Mustangs on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Saints couldn't push the score so high this time.

Berks Catholic's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7. As for Littlestown, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-8-1.
