Recap: Lincoln Lynx vs. Waukee Warriors
The Lincoln Lynx's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Waukee, falling 42-0. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Waukee is ranked 23rd).
Lincoln's loss was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Bishop Heelan Catholic and 10-2 Dowling Catholic (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games). As for Waukee, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Waukee will be playing at home against Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
