Basketball Recap: Calvary Baptist Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lehigh Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvary Baptist). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-51 victory over the Lehigh Christian Academy Mustangs on Thursday. For Calvary Baptist, this counts as revenge for the 70-55 win Lehigh Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Lehigh Christian Academy lost, don't look at Jacob Lewis. Despite the final result, he posted 31 points. Lewis' evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Josiah Kuhns was another key player, putting up ten points.

The victory got Calvary Baptist back to even at 2-2. As for Lehigh Christian Academy, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Baptist will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Martin Luther at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lehigh Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bethlehem Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bethlehem Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
