Basketball Recap: Hardaway Comes Up Short

Hardaway lost against Sumter County back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hardaway Hawks were dealt a 54-23 loss at the hands of the Sumter County Panthers. The match marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hardaway's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Jackson, who posted five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sergio Lowe, who earned four points.

Hardaway has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Sumter County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Hardaway is taking a road trip to take on Spencer at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st. Sumter County has already played their next matchup (against Carver), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
