Recap: Red Bud Musketeers vs. Waterloo Bulldogs
After a string of five wins, the Red Bud Musketeers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost to Waterloo at home by a decisive 48-31 margin. Red Bud has struggled against Waterloo recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Musketeers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lilly Minemann, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals. Minemann scored a full 38.7% of Red Bud's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Hess, who scored 8 points.
Red Bud's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Waterloo, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Red Bud will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Okawville at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Okawville is ranked 90th, while Red Bud is ranked 80th). As for Waterloo, they will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Vernon on Saturday.
