Baseball Recap: Agricultural Science Extends Winning Streak to Five

Agricultural Science waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Dunbar Mightymen as they made off with a 21-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cyclones, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

David Wilkinson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four stolen bases, and six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jarius Simmons -Watson was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Robles, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Agricultural Science always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Agricultural Science's record now sits at 9-3-2. As for Dunbar, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Agricultural Science wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-4 win against Bogan on the 19th. As for Dunbar, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-2 defeat against Juarez on the 17th.
