Volleyball Recap: Highland Tech Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Highland Tech and Cornerstone Charter squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Highland Tech had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 3-2. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

While Highland Tech ultimately came up short, they really made Cornerstone Charter work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 11-25, 26-24, 24-26, 25-15, 15-9.

Madie Chapman paced Highland Tech's offense, picking up 19 kills. Chapman got some help from Carsyn Redmond and her 18 assists. Chapman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cornerstone Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrey Kimball, who had 16 digs and six assists. That's the most digs Kimball has posted since back in August.

Highland Tech's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Cornerstone Charter, the win was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-4.

Highland Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cornerstone Charter, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Community School of Davidson on the 28th.
