Softball Recap: Calvary Chapel Eagles vs. Tustin Tillers
Calvary Chapel had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-14 to make it five. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tustin Tillers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 9-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2016.
Arianna Gonzalez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Bos, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
As for Tustin, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

Looking ahead, Calvary Chapel will venture away from home to square off against Buena Park at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Coyotes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tustin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westminster at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
